We are a group of Goenkars researching planning, environment, and land use issues to advocate for sustainable development and livelihoods for our state.
We believe planning decisions shape our environment, heritage, and livelihoods. Our mission is to help citizens understand, track, and engage with land matters, development plans, and zoning decisions that affect our villages, towns, and cities.
We work collaboratively with citizens’ groups, planners, researchers, lawyers, and the media to support informed, democratic, and sustainable futures.
Our work focuses on:
- Transparency: Making planning documents, maps, and permissions accessible and understandable to citizens.
- Tracking: Monitoring land use changes, development permissions, and planning processes.
- Citizen Engagement: Supporting citizens to participate in public consultations, file objections, and advocate for fair, sustainable planning.
- Research and Advocacy: Investigating systemic issues in Goa’s planning system, advocating for reforms and accountability through governance, legislative, and judicial channels.
- Capacity Building: Providing resources and guidance to help citizens navigate complex planning rules and procedures.
